The major advantage of inductors when compared to resistors:

Inductor: An energy storage component, as long as the current passes through the conductor, it will generate an electromagnetic field; Inductor= Electromagnetic field’s value / current’s value

Resistor: A dissipative component, it means when the current passes through the resistor, which will convert electric energy into thermal energy. In other words, the funtion of the resistor is mainly blocking the conductor’s current.
